Client and partner gifting
Client gifting follows different rules from employee gifting. The list is smaller, the addresses are all different, and the branding usually needs to be quieter.
Where it differs
An employee gift can carry your logo confidently - the recipient already works there. A client gift carrying a large logo reads as advertising, and it is the fastest way to make a considered gesture feel like a marketing drop.
The convention that works is restraint: the brand appears on the packaging or the card rather than across the product, and the note is personal and signed by the person who actually holds the relationship. That single detail does more than doubling the budget.
What client gifting usually needs
Individual addresses
Every gift goes somewhere different, often to an office reception with a named recipient. The address list is the real work.
Personal notes
Different message per recipient, printed and inserted - not a single card repeated across the run.
Restrained branding
Usually packaging-only, or co-branded where the relationship warrants it.
Compliance awareness
Some sectors cap what a client may accept. Worth checking against your own policy before the budget is set.
